Holidays

Hello! It's been a while since I sat here thinking what to punch out and send across the cyber-sphere to you all. It's going to be strange getting back into a schedule again, but I am hoping to have my blog up and going consistently one day.. Don't hold your breath though, consistency is not one of my strengths!

I hope you all enjoyed Christmas and the holidays, hasn't the time just flown?!

H.B is back to work and we will be starting to get ready for the new school year! It's more than just a little scary thinking of getting up and out of the house by 8am!

I have enjoyed having a needed break from blogging. The internet can get very overwhelming and it's nice to be able to take a step back and just live without the worry of hash tags and emails for a little while.

Christmas was perfect, loving and full of good friends and good food..

It's the right of every parent to make their children look very cute and slightly ridiculous
every now and then!

Our Christmas traditions have started taking shape now we are 8 years into Christmas as our own family. It's funny how little things can become important traditions in your family.

The night before Christmas the kids leave carrots (a whole bag this year *sigh*) for the reindeer  a mince pie and milk with a card for Santa. In the morning we head to Church to welcome Baby Jesus, then home to have a delicious (but not too heavy) breakfast. After we are full and content we all open our presents.

I think I look freakishly like Jack Nicholsons "Joker" here..
 HB should be afraid.

HB gave me a knife block set.. He must be feeling pretty secure, it's a brave man that gives a red headed, hot tempered wife a set of knives.

I gave him a dart board.. ditto the above comment, we are getting way too mellow around here it seems..

The face says it all.

Roos Christmas present is perfect for a bit of peace!

A Christmas Fairy

We made a gingerbread house, which turned out so perfectly that everyone, including the kids, refused to smash it and eat it.

Next year we will make it rubbish, then no one will worry about ruining and scoffing it!

Apart from that our holidays have been very quiet, we decided to just stay at home and enjoy not doing much of anything.

Sometimes lazy, 'lets do nothing' holidays are the best kind.
